Robotic partial nephrectomy
Robotic partial nephrectomy
This advanced surgical procedure can be used to treat cancer while preserving healthy kidney tissue.
Robotic partial nephrectomy can be used to remove small kidney tumors
This minimally invasive surgery is used as a kidney cancer treatment, most often for those with small kidney tumors (less than 4 cm in scale).
What is a robotic partial nephrectomy?
During this procedure, your surgeon will make a small incision in the belly and insert small surgical tools equipped with a camera. Your surgeon will then use robotic technology to remove cancerous tumors, while preserving as much healthy kidney tissue as possible.
Robotic-assistance allows your surgeon maximum precision and control, with very tiny movements. Benefits of this type of surgery include:
- Faster recovery
- Less bleeding
- Less pain
- Shorter hospital stays
