Hydration is key when it comes to the August heat and infused waters help make drinking water easy, fun, nutritious, and flavorful. Today, we’re going to beat this summer heat by making some infused waters!
Tropical fruits are always the better option when looking to infuse your water. Vegetables (like cucumber and fresh herbs) also help to add an additional flavor profile. Certain fruits infuse better than others, such as citrus and berries, which tend to infuse better than stone fruits and melons.
Ingredients/infusion ideas:
- Lemon, cucumber, mint
- Lemon, strawberry, mint or basil
- Strawberry, blueberry, lemon
- Lemon, lime, orange, cucumber
Directions:
- To Infuse, simply add the fruit and/or herb of your choosing to the bottom of the glass.
- Lightly muddle to release juices.
- Add water.
- Enjoy!
You can let the infused water chill and infuse for an hour to strengthen the flavor. You may keep infused fruit for no longer than 3 days, after that, you’ll want to throw it out. Don’t forget to drink up this summer and stay hydrated to beat the heat!
