West Jefferson Medical Center Partners With Children’s Hospital | Offers Pediatric Emergency Room Close to Home
NEW ORLEANS – West Jefferson Medical Center (WJMC) in partnership with Children’s Hospital is proud to announce the opening of a dedicated, pediatric emergency room within WJMC. The emergency room is conveniently located across from the adult ER and just off the main lobby/atrium. This new alliance will provide care close to home for the West Bank community with convenient, quick access to emergency care for the whole family from birth through adulthood. The pediatric emergency room at WJMC offers 24/7 emergency care with pediatric-specific equipment, seven exam rooms and physicians and nurses who are specially trained to work with children.
“Making pediatric emergency care closer to our West Bank families has been a goal of ours for some time,” said John Heaton, MD, Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer of Children’s Hospital. “Now the Children’s Hospital name, which so many people recognize for quality health care, is available to more people on the West Bank.”
“We are proud to partner with our sister hospital and provide the only pediatric emergency room on the West Bank,” said Nancy R. Cassagne, CEO of West Jefferson. “This will enable us to offer the very best care to our youngest patients and their families in a warm and calming atmosphere that will help to ease anxiety over being in a hospital.”
