Taslin Alfonzo joins West Jefferson Medical Center

Former WDSU-TV news anchor Taslin Alfonzo has joined West Jefferson Medical Center in the Marketing and Community Relations Department.
“In her new role as Digital Media Specialist, Ms. Alfonzo’s primary responsibilities will include marketing with an emphasis on use of social media and web-based outreach,” Chief Administrative Officer Angela Greener said. “We are very pleased to welcome Ms. Alfonzo to our hospital family. It is interesting, that in addition to her journalism background, she grew up in a medical family. Her mother is a rheumatologist, her father is an ENT surgeon and she has several aunts and uncles who are also medical doctors.”
Prior to joining WJMC, Taslin was an Emmy Award-Winning news anchor who worked in TV news for more than 10 years. She is a graduate of Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism and holds a B.A. in Psychology and Anthropology from Emory University
Fluent in Spanish, Ms. Alfonzo is of Venezuelan descent. She grew up in Jefferson Parish and attended Kehoe-France and Dominican High School.
