West Jefferson Medical Center Board Announces: Frank C. Di Vincenti, M.D. New Board Chairman

The West Jefferson Medical Center Board of Directors has announced its new officers. General Surgeon Frank C Di Vincenti, M.D., F.A.C.S., was elected to the office of Board Chairman at the April 27 meeting of the Board. Dr. Di Vincenti takes the helm with many years of health care experience to his credit and Board service. In addition to serving on the West Jefferson Medical Center Board, he has served on the Boards of the American Cancer Society, Greater New Orleans Unit and Southeast Louisiana Emergency Care

A graduate of L.S.U. School of Medicine, Dr. Di Vincenti interned and completed his residency at Charity Hospital in New Orleans after which he completed a stint in the U.S. Army attaining the rank of Major before his Honorable Discharge in 1969.A member of the West Jefferson Medical Center Medical Staff since 1971, he was Chief of Staff in 1984. In addition, Dr. Di Vincenti served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the hospital from 1998 – 2001.

In addition to his work as a general surgeon and a founder of Southern Surgical Specialists, Dr. Di Vincenti is a Clinical Professor of Surgery at L.S.U., Senior General Surgeon at the VA Hospital and Director of Emergency Care – City of Gretna. Dr. Di Vincenti has an impressive body of professional publications to his credit. He is a member of many professional associations including the Jefferson Parish Medical Society, Louisiana State Medical Society and the American College of Surgeons.

Dr. Di Vincenti is married to the former Irma Cospelich, the father of five daughters and one son and the grandfather of 12.

Juan J. Labadie, M.D. is the new Vice-Chairman of the Board and James Cramond is Secretary-Treasurer. Other members of the Board are: Barry Bordelon, Timothy Kerner, Gary Lala, B.H. Miller, Jr., Charlotte Roussel, Judy Sullivan, and Louis H. Thomas, Jr. the immediate past Chairman of the Board.
