The Family Doctors Announces New Extended Hours at the Oakwood Clinic

The Family Doctors, a division of West Jefferson Medical Center now offers extended hours to better serve the community. In response to ongoing assessments of the healthcare needs of this community, the Family Doctors recognized a gap in evening service hours. To fill that void and be accessible for those consumers who require appointments later in the day, extended hours are offered:

This offering will be available at the Oakwood Clinic of The Family Doctors located in the Wellness Complex at 175 Hector Avenue in Terrytown, LA, is now open from 8:00 am until 8:00 pm, Monday through Friday. In addition, . a walk-in clinic is available on Saturdays excepting holidays from 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., offered at the Oakwood location.

“The Family Doctors are here to provide care for area residents. We would like that care to be convenient, efficient and respectful of their time. It’s one of the reasons we chose neighborhood sites within easy driving distance for most patients in this region. Extending our hours builds upon that established pattern of convenience,” said Lori Mipro, Senior Director Practice Management.

In addition to staying open later and the existing same-day appointment availability, the Family Doctors have expanded their staff. “With the increased staff, we have made it more expedient than ever before to get an appointment with one of our physicians. The Appointment Center, 504-349-6824, accepts calls from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and takes pride in being able to match the patient with the doctor of choice,” Mipro concluded.
