The 2.4 square mile district, spanning downtown and Mid-City, is focused on growing both the programmatic and physical development components of the biosciences sector of the New Orleans economy. BioDistrict New Orleans is comprised of 15 members representing major academic and medical institutions in New Orleans. In her current role at University Medical Center, which is located in the heart of the BioDistrict, Charlotte develops and establishes strategic business initiatives to meet the needs of the community while working in partnership with physicians and hospital leadership.
In her previous role as New Orleans Health Director, Charlotte was instrumental in the City’s smoking ban.
