University Medical Center New Orleans names Jyotsna Fuloria, M.D. as new VP of Clinical Research

University Medical Center (University Medical Center) New Orleans is pleased to announce that Jyotsna Fuloria, M.D. an oncologist and researcher, has accepted the position of Vice President of Clinical Research.

Dr. Fuloria joins University Medical Center from the Ochsner Cancer Institute, where she served as Director, Clinical Oncology Research. Prior to that, she held positions in clinical oncology research including research experience with Eli Lilly & Co.

Dr. Fuloria will begin her new role in January 2017.

As Vice President for Clinical Research, Dr. Fuloria will provide oversight for all research and clinical trials taking place at University Medical Center and will work closely with our staff and academic partners to support the efficient delivery of high-quality Clinical Trial Research.

University Medical Center includes a dedicated Clinical Trials Research Center (CTRC) that provides a state-of-the-art environment for care through research to New Orleans and the University Medical Center community. In partnership with LSU Health New Orleans, Tulane University School of Medicine, and Xavier University of Louisiana, University Medical Center supports clinical trials in many areas including cardiovascular disease, cancer, diabetes, infectious disease, and pulmonary hypertension

Dr. Fuloria brings a strong background in clinical research, with over 18 years of experience in cancer research with a focus on gastrointestinal cancers.

Dr. Fuloria received her medical degree from the University of Delhi, Delhi, India. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Unity Health System Rochester, N.Y., and her fellowship in Hematology and Oncology at St. Frances Hospital of Evanston and Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, Ill.
