Stereotactic & Functional Neurosurgery
Many neurological conditions affect your quality of life, from movement disorders and tremors to degenerative diseases that cause chronic pain. Our Neuroscience Center’s stereotactic and functional neurosurgery program focuses on advanced “restorative” neurosurgery techniques, using the latest technologies and science to help you return to the activities and passions most important to you, regardless of your diagnosis.
Stereotactic neurosurgery, or surgery that allows highly accurate positioning of probes in the brain using three-dimensional imaging, is a growing field used to effectively treat neurological conditions such as:
- Movement disorders
- Epilepsy
- Chronic pain stemming from a stroke or other neurological condition
Stereotactic and functional neurosurgery also has applications in a wide variety of other neurological conditions, including:
- Degenerative diseases
- Neurological injuries
- Psychiatric disorders
- Brain tumors
- Hydrocephalus
As part of our Neuroscience Center, our neurosurgeons work with a multidisciplinary team to explore all treatment options before recommending a surgical approach. Our goal with every patient is to restore function and eliminate neurological symptoms and pain.
