Visiting our Hospital & Clinics

Touro remains committed to providing a safe environment for our employees, physicians, and other members of our team, as well as patients and their loved ones. In response to the rapid increase in COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations across the State of Louisiana, Touro will modify its visitor policy. Be sure to check back here for the most up to date visitor restrictions.

Rest assured, when you visit any of our facilities, your health and safety is a top priority. Our providers are available to answer any questions or discuss any concerns you may have about receiving care.

What you can Expect when Visiting our Hospital or Clinics

Visitor restrictions

The Louisiana Department of Health has asked all healthcare facilities to restrict visitor access as well as perform a safety screening including a temperature check on all visitors, in order to ensure public health and prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Until further notice, visitor restrictions will remain in conjunction with the guidelines presented by the Louisiana Department of Health, which shall include that all permitted visitors will wear a mask while in the facility.

Effective Thursday, February 10, 2022, the following visitor restrictions are in place:

All visitors will be symptom and temperature screened at manned entrances and required to wear a mask covering their mouth and nose at all times while in the building. Cloth masks are not permitted. N95, Kn95, and surgical masks are allowed.

For adult Inpatient and Outpatient Care, two adult visitors/patient support people will be allowed to visit patient(s) between the hours of 8:30 AM – 8:00 PM seven days per week. One of the same adult visitors may also stay overnight for non-COVID-19 patients. Family Birthing Center patients are allowed three adult visitors, including a doula, per patient per day. One adult visitor may stay overnight. Emergency Department patients are restricted to one adult visitor per non-COVID-19 patient for one hour and at time of discharge.

All visitors must be ages 18 and over to enter the hospital.

Visitation is not permitted for COVID positive patients.

The health and safety of our patients, staff and community are our top priority. Visitor Restrictions are subject to change at the discretion of hospital leadership.
