Community Health Needs Assessment
Addressing Health Needs in our Community
Touro Infirmary has a long-standing commitment to our community that spans more than 165 years. Responding to that commitment, Touro conducts comprehensive Community Health Needs Assessments (CHNAs) to identify the most significant health needs across our region and develop strategies for addressing them. The most current assessment was completed by an external healthcare consultant working with Touro and includes quantitative and qualitative data that serve to guide our community benefit planning.
The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 requires nonprofit, tax-exempt hospitals to assess the healthcare needs of their communities every three years and to adopt an implementation strategy to address the needs identified. Through our CHNA, Touro has identified the greatest health needs in our hospital’s community, enabling Touro to ensure our resources are appropriately directed toward outreach, prevention, education and wellness opportunities where the greatest impact can be realized.
Input from the community is valuable to our efforts to correctly assess the health needs of residents in our community. Please click here to send us your comments.
