Lakeview Regional plans $1.8 million remodel

Major renovation of labor & delivery and mother & baby unit to be complete in fall 2022

Lakeview Hospital , a campus of Tulane Medical Center, has announced plans for a $1.8 million renovation of its labor and delivery suites and mother and baby unit at the Covington hospital. The remodel is set to begin this month and be completed by fall 2022. It will include all labor and delivery suites, triage area, and common areas supporting these services.

The remodel of this department creates a fresh, modern space that meets those needs.”

The newly appointed space will provide a calm, spa-like environment awash in soothing hues of blues and grays. Private labor suites will be situated in a dedicated unit equipped with two operating rooms and a triage area, a level III NICU, and a well-baby nursery. A post-partum wing will offer spacious, luxury suites providing comfort and privacy for women after birth. As an added feature, new mothers and families will have access to room and concierge services and may choose to employ professional photography services. Lakeview Regional has a certified doula referral program for patients interested in utilizing a doula during childbirth. During the remodel, the unit will remain open with scheduled closings of rooms.

Lakeview Regional hosts free, comprehensive childbirth preparation classes regularly, including the preparing for childbirth class, Lamaze childbirth class, breastfeeding classes, sibling classes, and tours of the women and children’s unit.
