About Dr. Holman
Stacey L. Holman, MD is an Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Holman grew up in Raceland, Louisiana and attended Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Zoology, Summa Cum Laude, in 2000. Dr. Holman attended medical school at LSU-New Orleans, graduating in 2004. She also completed her residency in OBGYN at LSU-New Orleans where she was elected Administrative Chief Resident. Dr. Holman was inducted into the Beta Chapter of Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society as a Resident Member in April 2008.
As a member of the Generalist Division of LSU OBGYN, Dr. Holman is responsible for teaching residents and students as well as maintaining a private practice. Dr. Holman was board certified with the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology in 2011. She is the Residency Program Director and is active with LSU Graduate Medical Education. Her leadership also extends to University Medical Center where she holds the position of Women's Health Center Director.
Dr. Holman has a particular interest in patient safety/quality improvement and serves as a faculty member for the Louisiana Perinatal Quality Collaborative. The focus of this group is to reduce maternal morbidity and mortality with a focus on health equity and patient-centered care. At Touro Infirmary, she co-chairs the OB Quality Committee and is responsible for coordination of unit drills, review of quality metrics, and maintenance of a learning environment for resident education.
Dr. Holman has been involved in the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) for many years. She has served in multiple leadership positions and currently sits on the Louisiana Section Advisory Board. She is a member of the Society for Academic Specialists in General OBGYN and the American Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology.
Her professional interests include: prenatal and postpartum care, colposcopy, preventive health, and physician wellness.
Dr. Holman has lived in New Orleans for the past 20 years and resides with her husband and their two children. In her free time, she enjoys traveling with family and friends, LSU football, running, and incorporating healthy living into her daily routine.
