About Dr. Malhotra
I am a Board certified Palliative Medicine doctor for adults and kids and the Founder & Director for Palliative Medicine and Supportive Care at University Medical Center. I have built a robust inpatient Palliative Medicine service, outpatient clinic, and inpatient hospice beds at the hospital. I completed my Internal Medicine & Pediatrics (Med-Peds) residency at Tulane, a Chief Residency year in Pediatrics at Tulane, and a fellowship in Adult and Pediatric Palliative Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh. I received a Master’s in Medical Education at UPitt and have a keen interest in innovative curricula for teaching primary Palliative Medicine skills. I am part of various University Medical Center committees including Bioethics and Chairs the Analgesia Stewardship Committee. I research Palliative Medicine access and have been awarded with several regional and National awards in Palliative Medicine including the AAHPM Emerging Leader Award.
My Little Something Extra:
Empathy - walking as if we are in your shoes knowing full well we are not and how to make your experience at the hospital as best as possible.
