About Dr. Macicek

Dr. Scott Macicek serves as Chief Experience Officer at Children’s Hospital New Orleans and sees patients as a Pediatric and Adult Congenital Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist. A native of Lafayette, Louisiana, he received his undergraduate degree from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. He attended medical school at LSU Health New Orleans and then completed residency training at Texas Children’s Hospital.

Dr. Macicek then completed fellowships in pediatric cardiology and pediatric electrophysiology. Before moving back to Louisiana, he remained on staff at Texas Children’s Hospital.

Dr. Macicek is board certified in pediatrics, pediatric cardiology, and adult congenital heart disease. Additionally, he is certified as a pediatric electrophysiologist by the International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners.

His clinical interests include the full spectrum of both noninvasive and invasive evaluation and management of children and adults with congenital heart disease who have heart rhythm abnormalities or suspected abnormalities.

Dr. Macicek chose to practice pediatric cardiology and electrophysiology because he loves the opportunity to help patients and families through challenging diagnoses and have the chance to really make a difference one patient at a time.

Little Something Extra: Dr. Macicek's little something extra is that he is passionate about family. He met his wife playing guitar and still loves to play guitar and spend time with his wife and their six children.

Dr. Macicek has been wonderful from day one. He listens to everything we have to say, and he speaks to us in a way we can fully comprehend. His demeanor is warm and pleasant. He has been very thorough. I have recommended him to several friends and will continue to do so. Our experience with the cardiology clinic has been excellent.

This was one of the most thorough appointments we've ever been to. I feel like we're finally on the path to answers. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Macicek and his staff.

Dr. Macicek has been one of my son's favorite doctors since day one. He always makes him feel like he's an adult and explains things to him in a manner to where he understands. Me as a mother, he makes me feel at ease to let me know that things are okay with my son. He explains that to me as well. Thank you.
