Pui “Joan” Cheng, M.D. is a Gynecologic Oncologist with Crescent City Physicians, Inc., a subsidiary of Touro infirmary. Dr. Cheng attended Tulane Medical School and completed her residency at University of New York at Stony Brook. She then served her fellowship at University of Southern California. During her fellowship, Dr. Cheng treated a teacher who had been diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Dr. Cheng said the patient inspired her because she never stopped living life and kept doing all the things she enjoyed until she passed away. In memory of that patient, Dr. Cheng advises all her patients that no matter what illness or adversity they encounter, they should live in the present and face their problems with a solid foundation of hope. With over 20 years of experience, Dr. Cheng continues her practice because of her commitment to delivering high quality surgical care and state-of-the-art oncology care to each of her patients.

Yes, this provider, Dr. Cheng, that I saw today, this was the first time she was referred to me by my internist. She was excellent. She took time. Everybody on her staff was excellent. I wish all the doctors could be like this. I just rate her very highly. Thank you.

Dr. Cheng is very caring and very concerned about the health and care of her patients. She looks beyond just the physical to also the emotional and the physical and the mental health of her patients, so much so that she started a support group for the GYN patients so that they can address their concerns and issues among themselves and have support with people who've gone through it. She knows her patients, she listens to her patients, and she cares about her patients. She's a wonderful doctor. I feel very confident in her care and her treatment plans, and she involves me in making the treatment plans. And I'm extremely satisfied with her.

She is one of the best doctors that I have seen in my life. The day I met her, she was knowledgeable. She made me feel at home, comfortable. And then I'm actually answered, She also took time to let me know that anything I needed to say and ask of her, she didn't rush me through it. I would recommend her to my family and friends. And if I had to do this all over again, I would choose her.
