About Dr. Colfry, III

I specialize in Breast Surgical Oncology. I became a healthcare provider because of the unique relationship I develop with my patients. Seeing people at their weakest moments, I always take the opportunity to comfort and assure them. My patients can count on me to provide extraordinary care because I want my patients to know I’m in their corner and will guide them through this journey.

I specialize in surgical treatment for breast cancer including lumpectomy, mastectomy, breast conversation techniques, and oncoplastic surgery. During my fellowship at MD Anderson Cancer in Houston, I mastered innovated surgical techniques such as radioactive seed localized lumpectomy. I also manage benign breast disease as well as high-risk breast cancer patients. I’ve authored multiple publications on breast cancer – most recently contributing to a textbook on Ductal Carcinoma in Situ.

My little something extra

In my free time, you’ll find me listening to live jazz music, playing tennis, fly fishing, and exploring New Orleans with my wife Alysha, daughter Isabel and son John.

Dr. Colfry saved my life. He diagnosed my breast cancer that I had two years earlier and missed the diagnosis on the mammograms. They had missed two full years and did not discover that I had breast cancer and Dr. Colfry found it. So I am so grateful to him for everything.

Dr. Colfry, he did my surgery and I was very pleased. I was informed and very satisfied before the surgery and after my surgery, since that time, I've been pleased with each visit. He tells me everything. He answers all my questions and he also tells me things to look forward to in the procedure and after the procedure and he also advised me and let me know that he is in contact with my other doctors because I have other problems. I am very satisfied with the service I received and he's a very personable person and I like that because he talks to me like he understands what I may be thinking and what I may be doing. Thank you.

Dr. Colfry has not done my surgery yet but I am confident he will do it properly and whoever he has to do the reconstruction will be to his satisfaction. He has a wonderful personality and I felt he was listening to me and understanding what I was saying.
