Alfred J. Colfry, III, MD
About Dr. Colfry, III
I specialize in Breast Surgical Oncology. I became a healthcare provider because of the unique relationship I develop with my patients. Seeing people at their weakest moments, I always take the opportunity to comfort and assure them. My patients can count on me to provide extraordinary care because I want my patients to know I’m in their corner and will guide them through this journey.
I specialize in surgical treatment for breast cancer including lumpectomy, mastectomy, breast conversation techniques, and oncoplastic surgery. During my fellowship at MD Anderson Cancer in Houston, I mastered innovated surgical techniques such as radioactive seed localized lumpectomy. I also manage benign breast disease as well as high-risk breast cancer patients. I’ve authored multiple publications on breast cancer – most recently contributing to a textbook on Ductal Carcinoma in Situ.
My little something extra
In my free time, you’ll find me listening to live jazz music, playing tennis, fly fishing, and exploring New Orleans with my wife Alysha, daughter Isabel and son John.
