What is a rare cancer?

A cancer is considered rare when it occurs in fewer than 15 out of 100,000 people each year. Because less is known about these types of cancers, they can be more challenging to diagnose and treat than more common cancers. That’s why our program is staffed by experts with experience caring for patients with the rarest cancer cases.
