At our Breast Care Center, treating you like family is the only way we know how. All of our services are centered around providing extraordinary, convenient care for you. At East Jefferson General Hospital, our Breast Care Navigator will guide you through every appointment, procedure, and service ensuring that your time here goes smoothly.
We know that healthcare can be stressful, which is why we’ve made it easy for you. At East Jefferson General Hospital we provide comprehensive care by having screening, diagnosis, staging, and treatment of breast cancer all in one place. We offer the latest in education, prevention, care, screening, diagnostics, and personalized care including nurse navigator services to ensure you receive the best care possible.
How to schedule with us
When you’re ready, our friendly staff is happy to assist you with making an appointment with our team of providers. To schedule an appointment, simply call 504.503.4164. We ask that any appointment cancellations are made at least 24 hours in advance, so we can serve another woman in need of our care.
For your convenience, patient registration is on-site and walk-in screening patients are accommodated. Hours of operation are 6:00 am to 6:30 pm Monday through Thursday, and 6:00 am to 5:00 pm on Fridays. Saturday appointments are available. Parking on site is available.
Saturday appointments available twice a month from 8 am to Noon. Call 504.503.4164 to schedule an appointment.
The Women's Imaging and Breast Care Center features:
- 3 3D-Tomosynthesis, the latest technology available in both screening and diagnostic mammography studies
- A stereotactic procedure room which allows for additional diagnostic technology and minimally invasive procedures to diagnose breast abnormalities within one week
- One bone density room and Two ultrasound rooms, capable of performing ultrasound-guided breast biopsies
Our services include:
- Digital Mammography with CAD technology
- Screening and Diagnostic mammography (physician referral NOT required for screening mammograms)
- 2D mammograms
- 3D-Tomosynthesis mammograms
- Breast ultrasounds
- Stereotactic Breast Biopsy
- Ultrasound-Guided Biopsy
- Ultrasound-Guided Aspirations
- Bone Density Scans
- Self-referrals for screening mammography. Participants must be 40 years and older and asymptomatic (no problems)
- If the patient presents with symptomatic breast problems. The screening process will be stopped and the patient is then referred to the physician/surgeon on call for that day.
Women's Imaging is located at 4200 Houma Blvd in the Domino Pavilion. Our dedicated and certified staff have advanced skills in mammography, bone density, stereotactic biopsies, ultrasound technology, and is ACR Accredited (American College of Radiology).
