About this Location
Welcome to the Geriatric Behavioral Health Unit
This secure, 12-bed psychiatric unit is designed to treat patients 65 or older with a variety of psychiatric diagnoses. The unit treats patients who, because of a psychiatric disorder, might harm themselves or others, or are gravely disabled.
A seniors-only psychiatric unit is important because seniors are often uncomfortable, or even fearful, when mixed with younger patients on general adult psychiatric units. The Geriatric Behavioral Health Unit is designed to cater to the unique needs of seniors, providing the safe and comfortable environment essential to successful treatment.
