In its ongoing support as a leading sponsor for the 2016 New Orleans Heart Walk, East Jefferson General Hospital and its team members helped raise nearly $32,000 for the American Heart Association during this past Saturday’s event.
“It was humbling to see so many of our team members lend their support,” said EJGH President and CEO and 2016 New Orleans Heart Walk Chairman Dr. Mark Peters. “It shows our dedication to the community that so many of our team members gave not only their money but also their time for this worthy cause. I can’t thank them enough for their tireless efforts.”
Dedicated to funding research for striking out the nation’s No. 1 and No. 5 killers, heart disease, and stroke, the New Orleans Heart Walk is the AHA’s largest local fundraiser of the year, taking place this past weekend at Champion’s Square.
EJGH proudly raised one of the largest amounts by any organization for this year’s event, helping bring the overall total to nearly $500,000 for building healthier lives for the greater New Orleans community.
