Bonnie McCarty Named 2016 Health Care Hero

East Jefferson General Hospital Registered Nurse Bonnie McCarty has officially been named a 2016 Health Care Hero by New Orleans City Business Magazine, putting the long-time EJGH Team Member amongst the top caregivers in the New Orleans metro area.

McCarty, RN, CCRN, has been with East Jefferson General Hospital since 1983, beginning her career in the Intensive Care Unit. Currently, McCarty is currently an Administrative Representative and consistently demonstrates excellence and leadership. In her role, she supports all areas throughout the hospital and has also been both a Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support instructor for many years.

Starting in 2007, Health Care Heroes honors health care professionals in the New Orleans area in the following categories: animal care, nursing, physicians, professionals, and volunteers. Honorees are selected based on industry achievement and community involvement.

McCarty and the rest of this year’s honorees will be honored in a special ceremony at 5 p.m. on May 16 at the New Orleans Art Museum.
