EJGH invites the community to an important meeting regarding the future of healthcare in Jefferson Parish.
Monday, May 20 at 6 PM
East Jefferson General Hospital
4200 Houma Boulevard, Metairie
Crawford Conference Center – Esplanade 1
This important public meeting is being led by Sherriff Newell Norman, EJGH Board Chairman, and Dr. Mark Peters, EJGH President and CEO. They will discuss the rapidly evolving changes in healthcare in Louisiana and throughout the United States and what your community hospitals are doing to ensure the quality and stability of healthcare in our region.
As healthcare reform is continuing to be implemented, Jefferson Parish’s two publically-owned medical centers are facing challenges that will threaten their viability unless changes are made in the near future. The leaders of East Jefferson General Hospital and West Jefferson Medical Center are working together to identify ways to maintain the high quality of care our patients are accustomed to receiving and deserve while ensuring financial soundness. Several options are being considered by the leadership to improve efficiency without sacrificing the quality of healthcare. The sale of the two hospitals, however, is not being considered.
This meeting is open to the public so they may hear key issues. Those in attendance will also have the opportunity to ask questions and express opinions.
