Santa For Seniors A Holiday Success!

Thank you to the EJGH Creating our Culture Committee for all their hard work with the Santa for Seniors Program. Also, a big thank you goes out to all the team members who contributed this year to brighten the holiday season for so many senior citizens in our community. Over 50 hospital departments participated and over 600 gifts were collected!

This is the sixth year EJGH has partnered with Home Instead Senior Care on the Santa for Seniors Program. Over 438 seniors requested and received gifts at the following nursing homes: Colonial Oaks, Jefferson HealthCare, Metairie HealthCare, West Jefferson HealthCare, Our Lady of Wisdom, Sunrise Assistant Living Center, and Kenner Senior Care. On December 12, almost 30 EJGH team members visited Colonial Oaks’ holiday celebration to pass out gifts with Santa to the residents, sing carols, and enjoy holiday treats.

“One of the truly wonderful things about our team members is their sense of community,” said Mark Peters, MD, EJGH President, and CEO. “They embrace this program every year because they know that it makes such a difference in the lives of the people they touch. I applaud their efforts and thank them for their generosity.”

Santa for Seniors has become one of the most anticipated programs of the year. It is always a special time to visit with the residents and to spread holiday joy throughout the season.
