Thank You Wellness Center Staff and Members

Pie Throwing Fundraiser nets over $600

The EJGH Wellness Center staff wanted to take a pie to the face to help beat cancer. And, the Wellness Center members were more than willing to be the ones throwing the pies.

All in good fun to support our Capital Campaign to build the new Outpatient Oncology Infusion Center, members of the Wellness Center were front and center wearing protective goggles and challenged Wellness Center members to take aim with a whip cream pie for a small donation. Wellness Center members donated over $600, and everyone had a great time.

“I cannot thank the Wellness Center members enough for stepping up and supporting this, but most of all, we all thank the Wellness Center staff for coming up with the idea and being such great sports,” says Rebecca Leonard McWilliams, EJGH Foundation Director of Development. “There was a sense of community and togetherness that symbolized everything the hospital represents. It was a fun way to benefit cancer patients.”

One thing we learned, however, is if you want a pie to face this time of year, all you need to do is start yelling “Roll Tide!”
