The three-year agreement keeps EJGH as an in-network facility for thousands of UnitedHealthcare customers.
Metairie, LA – East Jefferson General Hospital and UnitedHealthcare announced today a new three-year agreement that will keep the hospital as an in-network provider to thousands of UnitedHealthcare customers in our region. Both organizations believed that agreeing prior to any lapse in coverage was important in maintaining healthcare access for our community.
“We’re proud to be an in-network provider to the thousands of UnitedHealthcare customers,” says Dr. Mark Peters, EJGH President, and CEO. “We felt very strongly that it was in the community’s best interest to come to an amicable agreement. We appreciate that UnitedHealthcare acknowledged the clinical excellence and compassion of our staff. At the same time, we confirmed our commitment to treating UnitedHealthcare customers with the highest level of care.”
The new agreement will take effect on November 1, 2010. East Jefferson and UnitedHealthcare have long maintained a positive relationship, and the new agreement means that customers will continue to have choice and access to healthcare.
“UnitedHealthcare recognizes and appreciates East Jefferson’s clinical excellence and its outstanding reputation in the market,” says Glen Golemi, CEO of UnitedHealthcare. “We knew this agreement was important to both UnitedHealthcare, EJGH, and most importantly, our customers.”
