East Jefferson General Hospital hosts two residency programs, both of which are competitive and challenging and offer excellent opportunities to learn in a dynamic setting with some of the most gifted minds in the region. Although hundreds of qualified applicants vie for a position in our Family Medicine and Podiatric Medicine & Surgery residency programs, only a small number of the most outstanding candidates are selected each year.

East Jefferson General Hospital, the first nursing magnet hospital in the region, has partnered with Delgado Community College to provide education and training that is unmatched in the region. Our students have the opportunity to learn in real-world settings with practicing physicians, nurses and emergency specialists. These programs not only offer students a variety of opportunities when they enter the workforce, but also ensure that our community continues to benefit from an outstanding pool of healthcare professionals.
