LCMC Health Urgent Care offers U.S. Veterans a “no wait” urgent care option
Beginning June 6, 2019, U.S. Veterans no longer have to wait to get care for minor medical conditions. Under the new Veterans Affairs Department's Mission Act, LCMC Health Urgent Care clinics will now be able to treat veterans on a walk-in basis. No appointment is ever necessary.
A Veteran himself, LCMC Health Urgent Care Medical Director Dr. Patrick Dennis says, “It’s an honor to serve those who’ve bravely served this country. I look forward to being able to offer Veterans quick, easy, and convenient access to quality medical care.”
Veterans can now arrive at any LCMC Health Urgent Care location and simply let the clinic know they would like to use their VA Urgent Care benefits. The clinic will then confirm Veteran eligibility before providing care. Minor medical conditions include (but are not limited to): flu-like symptoms, strep throat, minor burns, pink eye, ear/skin infections, x-rays, lab testing, and medications.
All LCMC Health Urgent Care clinics operate Monday-Friday, 8 am—8 pm and Saturday/Sunday, 8 am—5 pm. LCMC Health Urgent Care centers are modern, state-of-the-art facilities providing walk-in care for minor illnesses and injuries seven days a week, including holidays. Licensed providers are available to perform procedures like splinting and suturing, in addition to being equipped with digital x-ray, laboratory services, and an electronic medical records (EMR) system.
With six convenient locations in Lakeview, Algiers, Marrero, Covington, Gretna, and Clearview, LCMC Health Urgent Care operates as a seamless extension of the LCMC Health system, which is backed by the outstanding resources and reputation of LCMC Health.
LCMC Health Urgent Care clinics are accredited by the national Urgent Care Association, certifying its clinics deliver the highest level of care available in an on-demand care setting.
